Recreation, Youth Involvement and Donation of basic needs by LC Hyderabad East

Lions Club of Hyderabad East has been celebrating the Indian festival of #rakshabandhan with children and #youth at RadhaKishan Balika Bhawan Orphanage since 1982.

The festival signifies the brother-sister bond. While it portrayed the brothers as saviors of sisters in earlier time, it is more about celebration of the relationship in modern times.

Members of our club spend the day at the orphanage, celebrate the festival with the children by tying rakhi - a decorated thread, on their wrists, and distributing sweets.

We also serve and share a special meal with the children and staff at the orphanage.

On 18th August, this year too the activity was organised and the opportunity to serve was utilised. The club provided items of basic need - detergents, bath soaps, mosquito repellent cream and liquid, sanitary napkins, pens and notebooks. Wheat flour (100 KG), jaggery (50 KG), and refined groundnut oil (150 KG)was provided.  Thirty Lions and their friends participated in the activity.
